Xian WarriorsThe ancient city of Xian was one of our favorite places. The famous Xian warriors were worth seeing, although the majority of the soldiers are housed in a HUGE, very hot place. The Chinese are actually still excavating some of them, and putting them together, at least they still were when I was there in the summer of 2013.

Food & DiningWe were on a tour, so we mostly had to go to places that were prearranged. The hotels all had buffet breakfasts that were a combination of Western-style, Chinese and sometimes Indian foods.
The food in China was not like the Chinese food in America. It was mostly vegetables, with a lot of tofu, and we usually were seated at large, round tables with a spinning "lazy Susan" that held the food. The best food was the first and last day, with meals of duck dinners. :) The best Chinese food we ate was in Hong Kong, our last stop! Wow: great dimsum, noodles, meat dishes, etc.! |
